July 07 Dancing Girls To The Rescue!! Hello Cyberfans !!
Well what an interesting couple of weeks we have had. Having been through our period of recovery we took up the reins again and got back to what we do best - rocking the local establishments! We were asked to cover a cancellation at The Star in Ashford on 15th June, which we were quite happy to do, especially as its a pub we have been looking to get into for some time now. The night went really well and we have been asked to come back on the 14th July for their 3rd Charity event. We are well looking forward to this and will be looking to increase our fanbase with a solid set. Details have already been posted on another blog entry so check it out.
On 23rd June we returned to the Harbour Inn, Folkestone for the second time. Our first appearance there was good but this time it was that busy they had to stop people coming in! No dropped guitars or snapped strings this time either! We played a cracking 2.5hr set and had the place rocking from start to finish. We ended up playing way beyond midnight in fact and it was probably closer to 3hrs worth of material but worth every second of it. We have been rebooked there too, which is a right result. There were some familiar faces too, people that had seen us before and come along again, this time bringing some friends. In particular there are two ladies, whose names I do not know, one with blond hair (and a cracking figure to boot!!) and the other is dark haired. I will make a point of introducing myself I promise!! We took the opportunity to play some of the songs we had been rehearsing for Kery and Stuarts wedding too, including The Look by Roxette, which got some interesting looks when we started it. But then the jaws hit the floor as they realised just how heavy we had made it!!
Kery & Stuarts wedding took place on 30th June at the Hythe Imperial Hotel. We had a set of approx 15 songs that we intended to play. After the first 4 or 5 it was clear we had a game on our hands as the punters retired to the bar. But then we had a request for some Foo Fighters, which we did, and then ploughed on with some of the usual stuff we do. What a reaction we got too!! We packed the floor and everyone was dancing and had a great time.
And so on to this weekend. Last night we played the Jolly Frog again. I had popped in to the pub during the week and Andy had said he thought it might be a quiet one. I however did not! But I never expected the night to turn out like it did!!! We stormed through the first set and was getting a great reception from the crowd. The place was packed out, and we had some old faces come along to see us along with plenty of new ones too, which is always nice. So on we cracked into set 2.Now for whatever reason, and I still am not clear on this, we ended up with several ladies positioned right in front of the band.....with their tits out!! Chunk and I were somewhat taken aback by this and, in typical Turmoil fashion, started to forget what song we were playing as the wonderful mounds of titty flesh bounced up and down before us!! Outstanding, literally!! Chunk then felt the urge to get into the crowd whilst doing Killing In The Name Of, no doubt wishing for a repeat performance. Likewise, with my new wireless kit, I did the same during Dont Look Back In Anger. For my troubles I got hugs and kisses from a range of people, mostly blokes, in a show of true hetrosexual bonfing!! What a fucking great gig it was. Even Lewie, who was suffereing with a cold, was jumping, dancing and screaming for dear life, a sight to behold!!
So all is good at the moment. Tonight we play The Victoria in Cheriton, another place where we are starting to get a good following. If you can make it then pop down and join the fun. If not, check out the gig list and see if you can come along and enjoy any of the other gigs we have lined up this year.
Until the next time,
Keep Rockin'
The Eclipse
